Personal Comments on the Invasion of Ukraine Part 1

We’re into Day 11 of the Invasion of Ukraine by Putin’s Russia. I have to be honest, I saw Donetsk and Luhansk, the alleged separatist areas being invaded, but the whole nation? No, I didn’t see that coming. And so what is Putin up to in my opinion? I do not know because I don’t think he knows either! He’s put himself in a position where he can’t back down because he would lose face, but if he doesn’t back down he’s threatening World War 3! If that isn’t sticking yourself in a corner, I don’t know what is. And then there is the West. I think, I’ve always thought it a massive mistake to allow the previous Soviet nations to become members of NATO, they should have been protectorates, so that there isn’t the perceived threat to Russia, and we broke the Minsk Agreement after Soviet Russia fell. But back to the reality of life. I’ve watched footage of the refugees arriving at Poland and the other previously Warsaw Pact nations, and I defy not having a wee tear in the eye. This is Europe! Never seen it coming. More importantly, neither did our Generals.
