Cases of the Omicron variant have been confirmed in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands Australia and the UK in the past 24 hours as countries being to reimpose travel restrictions. Today Dutch authorities confirmed that 13 passengers on a flight from South Africa had tested positive for the mutant strain. It means at least 10 countries have confirmed cases, with several others investigating suspected instances.
