Mar 2020. My Walk to Work

March 2020. I decided to walk it to work today. Been working at the same place for over twenty years, but I like public transport. But we’ve all got to change our behaviours due to this Coronavirus thing and I don’t fancy the busy bus at this time, prefer the train, tons of space, but there’s no trains leaving my area until around 9am, and that’s when I’m supposed to start work, and I’m never late. I did the Google thing and it said walking is just under two hours. I didn’t see a problem with that cause when I work in a different area the mileage quoted by Google I’ll walk more than that, but then that’s over the whole day from one guy’s home to the next. I was thinking the Google stats of walking being just under two hours would be worked out using Olympic Walkers so I left really early. Turned out I had to start chilling out near where I work with three quarters of an hour to go. I think a lot of drivers passing were wondering what I was doing with my rucksack and strolling along puffing away at a cigarette, but what do I care. I really enjoyed that walk, it kept me safe and it kept the people I support safe. It was a bit too healthy for me mind. Okay, it was done yesterday, I’m recovering, legs are killing me, but I did the right thing for me and my guys. Stay home if you can and Stay Safe.
