20 October. It’s 11am UK time. A lot has happened regarding the site this month. On 4th October I found that I couldn’t log-in and post a file, I had the day job to think about at the time so I couldn’t address the issue until 11th when I placed a post on the WordPress forum explaining that when I tried to log-in I got a page with ‘It appears you don’t have permission to access this page. 403 Error. Forbidden.’ On the 12th I made contact with my server and explained the situation, after a chat that lasted over an hour it was sorted and I posted a file. That evening I managed to (what I thought) stave my right thumb. I have a touch of vertigo and last year, last October actually my right knee gave way and I fell down the stairs breaking my collar bone. That caused me to move projects and since Jnuary I’m still with the same company but the unit is purpose built and there’s less physical effort in visiting the guys that I help to support in my day job role as a mental health support worker. Anyway, on the evening of Saturday the 12th I get up off my seat to make a coffee and my knee gave way and down I went, I put my hand out and thus the injury. On the Sunday 13th the pain was increasing and I phoned NHS 24 explaining that I was getting tingling in all my fingers although the thumb was really sore. They said they’d contact the A&E and I was to immediately go there. This I did and it was really embarrassing in that I was seen immediately and after an assessment I had to go to the X-ray department and I was taken immediately even although there was a guy waiting in a trolly and a couple of guys sitting there waiting. It turns out I’ve broke a bone that supplies blood to my fingers, I’m no medic so it’s a breakage, that’s all I know and care about. It’s been strapped up and I’ve to go back next week for more X-rays. Saturday 12th was my first day of annual leave, I’m off for two weeks. On the Monday 14th I got a train to London Euston, then a train from London Waterloo to Portsmouth and then a ferry to Gosport and I was staying with a good friend till Friday 18th when I returned. However, on the journey to London I discovered via my phone that the site was down again. I contacted the server once again and I was advised that I had been initially attacked by malware and to protect this place I had to pay £283. 22 to have it fixed and to have the site scanned and protected on a daily basis. That is a lot of money to me and I said I had to give it thought. I have two sites but this is the place that takes up all my time. To be honest over the past few months I’ve been working on getting back to my lyric-writing and my intentions have been to place them on my lyric site which is totally separate from this one but is part of the plan that I have with the server which I finance yearly. I didn’t realise that my lyric site would be affected, I’ve not looked at it in years, it contains all my material that I wrote och years ago. When I go to the lyric site it’s a blank page that comes up, tomorrow I shall contact the server one more time and see what can be done, I know the attacks have been at this site, so if I can get a fix for the lyric site I don’t see there being a repetition, I cannot afford another near three hundred pounds. Anyway to get back to the £283.22, I decided to pay it, it’s just for the one domain, I decided on the train returning to Glasgow. I was too tired on the Friday 18th when I returned, it wasn’t till the following day, Saturday 19th that I found this place working okay and I visited the lyric site to find the blank page. Yesterday and today I’ve been working on this site and posting files. I have eight files ready to post, they are files from August. In the pending folder on my pc I have ten files that need a video edit and that’ll be the last of August. I have thirty files in the video output folder that all need a video edit and that is the total for September. I still need to capture from the Sky Box files for October. And so I have a lot of work to do with this place and a lot of files to post. I haven’t had the time to work on my campaign files, all the above video files I’m talking about are news files. It’s an endless task, and I’m spending more of my time in the writing of lyric, and of course they need to be inputted to the pc. Since breaking the bone in my wrist it is really difficult to write, I scribble at the best of times but when I’m assessing my work it’s sometimes difficult too read, oh well, that takes up more of my time. I think I’ve babbled enough for now, I was just wanting to bring you up to speed.
