Several articles have also tried to address the problem of social work students being reluctant to ‘speak up’. Social work educators have noticed the reluctance of students to speak out in classroom, and have probably also noticed a marked difference from, say, 10 years ago. This appears to go hand-in-hand with a comfort in following organisational rules and regulations rather than critically thinking about ideas and challenging them.
