March 2015. 21 people were killed and 18 of them were tourists visiting Tunis from cruise ships. Tourist spots are always a favourite for the terrorist cause they’re a soft touch and they bring the heavy publicity. Tunisia is the one success story of the Arab Spring, it was making a peaceful transition to democracy. But 1 in 10 Tunisians work in the tourism industry and the UK Foreign Office has stated, “high threat from terrorism”. The victims might not just be the 21 people killed, the people’s reaction will be critical. The terrorist it seems is ready to win yet again.
