Douglas Murray talking to Nigel Farage on the Critics of the UK – “We are listening to Critics who do not have our best interests at heart. I listen to my friends, my family and my loved ones because I know they desire me well, they want me to do well. I don’t listen to somebody who has the worst possible hopes about me because I know they don’t want me to do well! Well it’s the same as a Nation. I will listen endlessly to people who recognise the generosity and greatness of Britain across the centuries when they say there is this thing you could do better at or this aspect of your history you should understand better; I can listen to that forever. What I am now unwilling to listen to is people who think there is nothing good about this country, never was anything good, just as people say there is nothing good about America, better had Columbus never sailed off, don’t listen to these people, they don’t wish to improve you, they wish to end you!!”
