Dave Rubin asks Imam Mohamad Tawhidi about the Mosque Culture. Mohamad Tawhidi explains, “A Fundamentalist Mosque would definately frown upon you if you had shaved your beard completely!” Rubin asks, “So a beard you’d be welcome, but if you don’t have a beard you actually can’t even go in?” Tawhidi corrects with, “No, but they’ll just tell you why that’s wrong. Are you a woman? Are you a Jew? Why? Because the reports say that the Jews that came to fight Mohammad had no beards on, it was a sign of going to War, and in Arabia the sign of going to war would be to shave your head. The Jews in Arabia would shave their beards so that you can tell who is who in the battle. So Muslims keep their beards. There are many Reformers who don’t have beards, it’s no big deal.” He’s asked what would be talked about in a mosque. “There are Islamist Imams who say in closed circles what they will not say on the pulpits because of the Laws in the West. And then there are Imams who would go out there and say things nobody could Ever Imagine would ever be said in the history of Islam on the pulpit. They will just say it!…they want that message to get out of the mosque!” Rubin responds, “You would think that’s contrary to what they would want. You’d think it’s like you’d want to keep it sort of radicalized within. So you can put a good face on things. But you’re saying, when they’re talking about this and that about the Jews and the Gays and the this and that. The other thing, you think they actually want that to get out there cause they’re the ones putting it out?” The simple response from Tawhidi is, “Yes, and also there’s a concept of the one Muslim nation!”
